25 Years Agner Swissdrumsticks
1985 - 2010
"You have got a turning lathe, couldn`t you produce drumsticks?"
(Stans, fall 1983)
-----This question was the beginning of a Swiss-quality products history, which positioned itself, during the past 25 years, in the middle of the world market and continuous its ambitious growth.

Two years later (1985) Paul Agner, a skilled aircraft mechanic, officially founded his own company.  At the time, he produced turned wood parts. Drumsticks were only a small part of his production, but with the budding collaboration with Heer Music (Schlieren/ZH) in 1987, drumsticks became the mainstay of his business. With this collaboration, Paul Agner had a solid foundation for his future projects.

With his first product presentation in June 1987 at the hotel „Postillon“ in Buochs ( Switzerland ) he made the next big step for his business. This was the moment he showed the public his products and what his work looked like. At this historical moment he would also present the first Agner-Endorser. From the very first, Agner-products could count on high-standing professional fan such as Walter Kaiser, Salvatore Celi, Rene Gubelmann and Prof. S. Schmid (professor at the conservatory in Basel ). These musicians were the first product testers and advertising figures for Agner Swiss drumsticks. Following this presentation, Jojo Mayer signed an Agner-Endorsement contract, which was a good boost to the company`s international activity.

Agner continued at this lively pace and each year the famous Agner-Family grew bigger and bigger, gaining in musical talent. The members of this family are still the people who give us feedback on product quality and the market position. At the same time, they represent Agner across the entire globe. Today more than ever, this special relationship is important as the market is a highly competitive place. There are currently over 600 musicians who can call themselves a “member of the Agner-Family" and proud to be part of it.

Paul Agner still working in the factory to guarantee the highest level of quality and serve musicians with perfect hand tools. This fundamental idea is the guarantor of the incredible success in the past and will be for the future. With the production and the pursuit of perfect products, Agner Swissdrumsticks satisfies all the market’s demands.

In January 2007 Paul Agner moved his company to Rothenburg/Luzern. Here, he found the necessary infrastructure for his future intentions and business performances. With the construction of a better sale and support network in Europe and the entry to the US-market in 2010, Agner Swissdrumsticks goes for the European number 1 of drumsticks producers in the next years.
